The Best Weekend of the Year!

Plans for the Weekend begin November 23rd with the launch of the Core Sound Heritage Online Auction. Register early and start the bidding at www.HouseAuctionCompany.com. A wonderful selection of Core Sound, North Carolina and Eastern Shore working decoys from several extraordinary collections will be up for auction this season. An online catalog will be available at www.CoreSound.com by mid-November. Henry Murphy, Ned Burgess, Cigar Daisy, Ammie Paul, Julian Hamilton are just a few of the carvings to be offered to the highest bidder. Items will be on display at the Museum beginning Friday, December 4th at 5pm. Auction closes Saturday evening, December 5th. Proceeds go to the Core Sound Waterfowl Museum & Heritage Center.

DECEMBER 4TH | Friday, 6-9pm | Harkers Island (inside and out)

Come Down East for a night of Christmas decorations all over the Island including the museum. Carvers, artists and crafters will be on hand outside (with lots more Christmas lights), the Gallery of Trees will be full display, the Museum Store open for business and the Carolina Decoy Collectors Display will be in place! This will be a casual walk-through with Christmas goodies on the porch and music in the air! Free, families welcome.

DECEMBER 5th & 6th | Saturday-Sunday | Harkers Island (inside and out)

A different kind of Weekend but the same community spirit celebrating our waterfowling heritage! Tailgating begins at 9am Saturday with carvers, collectors, artists, photographers and crafters here to help you with your Christmas shopping. The Museum Store will be open 9am to 9pm with Crab Pot Trees, Island Anchors and a new collection of Christmas and Core Sound wearables. Waterfowl Weekend Church will be held in the parking lot at 8am Sunday Morning with sausage biscuits and cheesy grits to go! As always, admission is free and everyone is welcome.

**Throughout the Weekend, all Covid-19 precautions - including masks, temperature checks, limited entry and social distancing - will be in place to protect the safety of all who participate and in compliance with state and federal guidelines.
