As a member of the Core Sound Waterfowl Museum & Heritage Center you will be joining a growing community of 2,500+ members and 340+ volunteers who work throughout the year to make this facility possible. 

A place to learn, providing educational exhibitions, demonstrations and programs for learners of all ages, a resource for eastern North Carolina students and teachers, providing unique field trip experiences, as well as, natural and cultural resource based teacher workshops for professional development.  

A safe place for local artifacts, documents and photos, offering exhibitions highlighting hand carved decoys, workboats and community history on display year round. 

A great opportunity to experience the outdoors by hiking the Willow Pond trails with its freshwater nesting area through untouched maritime forest, an excellent hideaway for photographers, writers, walkers and curious kids. 

Down East's Welcome Center, providing information on local businesses, crafters and fisherman, and providing a communication center through the online news, "Down East Community News." 

An excellent location for library and oral history research, including the online archive for "Coastal Voices" recording and sharing the voices of local residents (past and present). 

The southernmost destination for the Outer Banks National Scenic Byway, linking communities from the North River in Carteret Country to Ocracoke and the Outer Banks of Dare County. 

Home to Saltwater Connections, a regional community collaborative network to support community members and organizations in heritage preservation, educational partnerships and sustainable economic development initiatives.

Lifetime Members are those individuals, families and companies who have made an extraordinary commitment to the work of Core Sound Waterfowl Museum & Heritage Center.  Their membership investment has helped us meet long-term facility and programming needs that secure Core Sound’s future.

Lifetime Members receive all of member benefits with a 15% Museum Store discount, two complimentary tickets to our annual Waterfowl Weekend Preview and your name included on the Lifetime Member Plaque in the Museum lobby.
