Meeting at 9am

Partner agencies and researchers who are working Down East will share their findings with the community beginning at 9 am. Community members are welcome to come and go at their convenience throughout the day.  

LUNCH at 12pm: Friday lunch will feature a presentation from Amy Lesen who works directly with rural communities of southern Louisiana in helping build community-based response-recovery plans as they have weathered storms and faced environmental disasters. Community members are welcome to join us for lunch to listen and learn more about the shared traditions and common cultures of rural Louisiana and North Carolina.

DINNER at 5:30pm: Friday supper, followed by a community meeting focusing on past experiences of storm readiness, response and recovery for Down East and neighboring communities; were we ready then, are we ready now?
