2016 is the second year of the Janice M. Smith Champagne Waterfowl Competition. Janice was a long time supporter of the Core Sound Waterfowl Museum & Heritage Center and a strong leader in the local community. She and her husband, our first board chairman, Billy were stalwart proponents of decoy carving and were strong collectors of decoys, both old and contemporary. It was Janice's strong desire to start a cocktail class decoy competition. After her passing, the Kathryn Smith Chadwick family have chosen to honor her memory with this competition.
This competition is open to all carvers. For more information, email Pam Morris at pamdmorris@coresound.com.
