Marine Science Academy is open to 18 Carteret County students who will be entering 7th, 8th or 9th grade in the fall of 2025.  This multi-discipline program allows students the opportunity to receive hands-on experience in marine science and learn more about the coastal area that they live in.  Each day scientists and experts from NC universities and research stations provided hands-on field activities for the participants to learn scientific research methods and collect species and data.  Students will also work with dissections and technology, spend time aboard a research vessel trawling for specimens, and explore Cape Lookout.  

What to Bring:  Water bottle, sun screen, bug spray, clothes for outside, water shoes
