Core Sound on Canvas is BACK!
After a wonderful response from our first two trial sessions, Down East native and artist, Willis Irvine, is back at the Core Sound Waterfowl Museum & Heritage Center on Friday, April 29th for a night of Down East stories, delicious treats, and a unique art experience where YOU can create your own Core Sound Canvas.
Focusing in on Portsmouth’s Island’s Methodist Church, this unique blending of Down East history and art will feature a sharing of stories from those individuals who have lived this history, who understand what it means to be a true Portsmouth Islander. This journey into the history of Portsmouth’s Church and, more importantly, those islanders who once graced its pews will be followed by a painting of the historic structure lead by Willis Irvine.
A fee of $25.00 per participant will be due at the time of registration. This fee entitles each participant to refreshments, a canvas, & additional painting supplies. There are a limited number of seats available for those interested in painting and registration will be closed once this limit is met. For any individuals who would like to attend only the telling of Portsmouth’s history, there is no fee.
The agenda for the evening is as follows:
6:00 - 6:30 Light Supper & History of Portsmouth Church
6:30 - 8:00 Painting of Portsmouth Church
We hope that you will join us for this wonderful evening as we continue to celebrate the people, places, and stories that make Down East what it is today. Stay tuned to our Facebook page to learn about the topics to be covered during our summer and fall sessions.
