Crystal Coast Quilters’ Guild, Core Sound Museum & Heritage Center and the Carteret County Public Library System are hosting the Sacred Threads Expressing Life’s Journeys traveling exhibit March 4-25 in recognition of National Quilting Month.
The juried Sacred Threads exhibit features the categories of Joy, Spirituality, Healing, Peace/Brotherhood, Inspiration, and Grief. Pieces by many nationally-known, award-winning art quilters are included.
The exhibit will be displayed at the Core Sound Community Outreach Center located at 806 Arendell Street in Morehead City and will be open Monday through Saturday from 10:00 am–5:00 pm.
In addition, Core Sound’s popular “Parlor Talks” series will feature textile-related topics:
March 9 – Sacred Threads Introduction by partner organizations with refreshments
March 16 – Feed Sacks’ Role in Quilting and Commerce presented by collectors
March 23 – Quilts as Art presented by Jon Burger, Director of Craven County Arts Council
