Telling Our Story

Opens Friday, November 19 | Opening Reception 6-8pm | Core Sound Waterfowl Museum & Heritage Center

Looking forward to our second annual Gallery of Trees with local families and organizations “telling their story” with beautiful handmade decorations on crab pot trees throughout the museum gallery and education hall. Trees will feature the story of Shackleford Horses, vintage decorations from Ocracoke, memories of Portsmouth Island along with the Core Sound Quilters’ original quilted ornaments and family treasures from many of Down East communities. Jarrett Bay Boatworks, Emerald Isle Realty and other long-standing businesses will add their touches to this “sure-to-be” annual tradition. Trees will be on display through the first week of January.

* All Covid-19 precautions, including masks, limited entry and social distancing, will be in place to protect the safety of all who participate and in compliance with state and federal guidelines.
