Susan Mason's exhibit focuses on the wide variety of bird life you may see as you travel the Down East Carteret County section of the Outer Banks National Scenic Byway. Living on the shore of Core Sound, Mason has many opportunities to see song birds, egrets, ibis, osprey, seagulls, pelicans, cormorants and even an occasional eagle going about their day. Her interactive exhibit presents images and local cultural knowledge of birds present in this unique environment.
